This unique program will include an overview of Jack Oakie’s life and career by noted historian David Sonne of the Jack Oakie Foundation. Also on hand will be District 12 Director Megan Cottier who will discuss the preservation work currently underway at Oakridge, the 11-acre estate in Northridge where Oakie lived with his wife Victoria from 1950 until his passing in 1978. And there will be a special screening of the rarely seen 1937 feature film “Hitting a New High” starring Jack Oakie and Lily Pons, courtesy of the Warner Brothers Archive Collection. Plus a $1 raffle and host of classic film related door prizes. So please join us as we celebrate the life of one of America’s most gifted and under-rated performers from the golden age of Hollywood.
