The Way of the Elders: The Buddha in Modern Theravada Traditions

Works in this exhibition illustrate a range of media produced in Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand from the eighteenth century to the present. They represent the Buddha in a variety of forms, as figures in his previous births, as the Buddha with monks and lay worshippers, and as symbols, such as the Buddha’s footprints.

9/11 Memorial Exhibit

It documents how the Beverly Hills Fire Department acquired the piece of metal from one of the World Trade Center towers. The exhibit will also show the planning of the Beverly Hills 9/11 Memorial Garden and will display memorabilia of Capt. Charles F. Burlingame III.

The Society of Motion Picture Still Photographers returns to the Academy’s Grand Lobby Gallery with a show of more than 115 new images, taken on film sets by 25 of their members. The Society’s previous exhibition, “Take 2,” was on display at the Academy in 2005.
