The event will take place in the historic Lasky-DeMille Barn and will cap off this season of the Evening @ the Barn series. Oakie appeared in over 100 movies and television programs over the course of a stellar career that spanned from the early 1920’s to the mid-1960’s. But he is probably most remembered for his portrayal of Benzino Napaloni, the boisterous dictator of Bacteria, in Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator (1940), for which he received an Oscar nomination in the Best Supporting Actor Award category.

Jennifer Jason Leigh gives a riveting performance as Lee, an acclaimed international photojournalist who returns home to Los Angeles after a traumatic experience abroad. Lee finds herself falling in love with John (Martin Henderson), a charismatic younger man with a complicated past. Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development) plays Lee’s 22-year-old daughter Jessie, an aspiring photographer with ambivalent feelings toward her mother.
