Learn how to strike a pose and dance to the sounds of Los Angeles at the end of the 20th century.

Hamilton Galleries and Tony Shalhoub present One-Night only 100cameras, Exhibition Fundraiser: Through the Lens of a Child. 100cameras Gives Cameras to Marginalized Children and teaches them how to them how to tell their story through photography. Come see their perspective. Come celebrate their voice. It will be an evening to enjoy good wine, honor stories of children and purchase their photography to raise funds to better their communities.

In his new works featured in the “En Route” exhibition, David Thompson has sought to capture moments of a cross-country voyage, from downtown Los Angeles to Coney Island and beyond. The prints, taken as a whole, attempt to portray the grand arc of a transcontinental adventure, encompassing both abstract, large-scale aerial perspectives and close-up moments as the images move from coast to coast.

You will learn about some of the important moments in ABC and television’s history, including: how the network grew out of the Paramount theater system; the historic deal with Walt Disney; the firsts, like ABC’s Wide World of Sports and the ground-breaking miniseries Roots, and more, all under the leadership of Leonard H. Goldenson.

Free public star parties are held monthly with the assistance of the Los Angeles Astronomical Society and the Los Angeles Sidewalk Astronomers at the Griffith Observatory from 2:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. They are a chance for the whole family to look at the sun, moon, visible planets, and other objects, to try out a variety of telescopes, and to talk to knowledgeable amateur astronomers about the sky and their equipment.
